Browsing: The homepage features the latest geospatial articles. Use the navigation menu to explore categories. The search bar in the header searches all blog articles.

Categories: Hover over "Categories" in the nav to see topic filters. Each category shows its article count. Click to filter.

Reading: Articles include a reading progress bar at the top. Share articles via social media. Subscribe to the newsletter at the bottom of any page.

Access: Click "GeoIntel" in the main menu. The 3D globe loads with CesiumJS.

Features:

• Satellite Catalog — Browse 1000+ satellites by category (ISS, Starlink, NOAA, GPS, etc.). Click any satellite to fly to it on the globe. Green = active, blue = science, red = defense.
• Filter — Use category buttons to show specific satellite types (e.g., "Starlink" to see all Starlink birds).
• Overhead Right Now — Click to find satellites passing over your location. Shows pass time, direction, and frequency data.
• Intelligence Layers — Toggle live data layers: flights (ADS-B), earthquakes (USGS), fires (NASA FIRMS), weather, ground stations, cameras, and space news.
• Time-Lapse Stories — Animated historical satellite stories with play/pause/speed controls.
• GeoTrivia — Built-in geography quiz. Choose category, mode (Practice/Timed/Survival), and question count. Track streaks and leaderboard scores.
• RECON Tools — Advanced satellite recon tools including frequency database, pass prediction for specific satellites, and orbit analysis.

Access: Click "Ocean" in the main menu. Enter coordinates (lat/lng) in the top bar.

Tabs:

• Dashboard — Quick overview: wave height, swell, sea temp, currents, tide phase, fishing conditions score, active alerts, and nearby buoys.
• Forecast — 7-day marine forecast table with wave height/direction, period, swell, currents, SST, and sea level.
• Fishing Zones — Browse saved fishing zones with species, best season, depth info. See fishing recommendation score.
• Alerts — Active marine alerts with severity levels (info/low/moderate/high).
• Buoys — Real-time NOAA NDBC buoy data: wind speed/dir, gusts, pressure, air/water temp, wave height, and dew point.
• Vessels — Search vessels by name/MMSI via Global Fishing Watch API. View position, flag, length, and AIS data.
• Oceanography — Ocean temperature & salinity profiles (synthesized from SST/latitude with thermocline model). 17 depth levels from 0–1000m.
• Migration — Species explorer with OBIS occurrence data, polar ice wildlife tracker, migration hotspots map, ice safety checker, migration calendar, and Arctic community problem solver.
• Tides — Tide phase: current state (high/low), relative height, next high/low tide timers, spring tide indicator.
• Economy — Ocean economy data: 6 sectors with employment, wages, establishments, and GDP (static curated ENOW data).
• Coverage — Data source availability for all APIs. API Management dashboard shows rate limits and circuit breaker states with reset buttons.

API Management: The coverage tab includes a live dashboard showing rate limit usage (requests used vs max), circuit breaker states (closed/half-open/open), and one-click reset for open circuits. Powered by automatic rate limiting (60 req/min for Open-Meteo, 30 for NOAA, 10 for OBIS/GBIF/GFW).

Access: Click "Planets" in the main menu. Browse all planets, dwarf planets, and moons.

Each planet page shows: type, diameter, distance from Sun, orbital period, number of moons, average temperature, and fun facts. Click through for detailed views.

Access: Click "Earth" in the main menu. Live Earth view with satellite overlay.

Features real-time weather satellite imagery, Earth timelapse, and geospatial data visualization.

Access: Click "Satellites" in the main menu. Browse the frequency database.

Search by frequency range, satellite name, or service type. Includes NOAA APT, Meteor HRPT, GOES, and amateur satellite downlinks. Import TLE data for pass predictions.

Access: Click "GeoTrivia" in the main menu, or play within GeoIntel.

Choose from categories: Space, Geography, Satellites, Climate, Navigation, General. Three game modes: Practice (unlimited time), Timed (15s per question), Survival (3 lives, lose one per wrong answer). Track stats, earn streaks, and compete on the leaderboard.

Access: Click "Geo Facts" in the main menu. Random geospatial facts with filter chips and search.

Filter by category (Space, Geography, Satellite, Climate, Navigation) or search by keyword. Each fact shows source attribution. Also shows a random Planet Fact widget and link to Earth Observatory.

Access: /admin — Login required. Admin users see an "Admin" link in the nav menu.

Capabilities:

• Posts — Create, edit, publish, and delete blog posts. Rich text editor with image upload.
• Pages — Manage static pages (published/unpublished/draft).
• Categories — Create and manage article categories.
• Comments — Moderate user comments.
• Settings — Site configuration: site name, description, logo, social media links, active theme, AdSense ID, Google Analytics ID, cookie consent settings, custom header/footer code, and content generation API keys.
• AI Content Generator — Auto-generate SEO-optimized articles using AI. Configure tone, length, category, and keyword focus.
• Image Generator — Generate feature images for articles using AI (DALL-E / Stable Diffusion).
• AI Detection — Check if content is AI-generated.
• Subscribers — View newsletter subscribers, export to CSV.
• Writers — Manage multi-author workflow: add writers, assign roles, track contributions.
• Devotionals — Manage daily devotional content.
• Ocean Intel — API key management, cache control, fishing zones, alerts, NOAA CO-OPS stations, ENOW economy data, API health checks, and API management dashboard (rate limits + circuit breakers).

The platform uses a mix of free and key-based APIs. Configure API keys in the Ocean admin panel (/admin/intel/ocean.php?tab=api_keys).

Free APIs (no key needed): Open-Meteo Marine, NOAA CO-OPS (tides), NOAA NDBC (buoys), OBIS (species), GBIF (species match), CesiumJS, NASA TLE/Celestrak.

Key-based APIs: Global Fishing Watch (vessel tracking). Add your key in the admin panel.

Rate limits: Open-Meteo = 60 req/min, NOAA CO-OPS/NDBC = 30 req/min, OBIS/GBIF/GFW = 10 req/min. Automatic circuit breaker: 5 failures → open 5 min → auto half-open retry.

All API responses are cached in the database (ocean_weather_cache table). Default TTL ranges from 30 min to 7 days depending on data type.

• Marine forecasts: cached 1 hour
• Buoy data: cached 30 minutes
• Tide predictions: cached 3 hours
• Ocean economy data: cached 7 days

Clear cache from Ocean admin panel, or expired entries auto-purge on new writes.

The platform is fully responsive. On mobile devices:

• Tap the hamburger menu (three lines) to open the mobile navigation.
• Tables scroll horizontally — swipe to see all columns.
• Ocean module stat cards stack vertically for easy reading.
• GeoIntel satellite tracker adapts — sidebar moves below the globe.
